Is Investing in Gold or other Precious Metals for You?

Do you recommend that your clients hold precious metal funds or ETFs, shares in mining companies or perhaps the bullion itself? Do your clients ask you about such investments? What do you say? Do you personally invest directly or indirectly in precious metals?

Clients pay attention to the social media, to advertisements and the endless bombardment of their senses with offers of all kinds. No question but many, many individuals, firms and others in the financial industry and related business are talking about investment in precious metals. They run the gamut from those touting such investments as safe from government interference to protection from inflation to safety from the “inevitable” next market crash. Small wonder that some clients are buying precious metals in one form or another and many more are asking their friends and advisers what it all means.
